The REF helps strengthen ties between civil society actors, artists, researchers, and communities engaged across the Mediterranean region.
By fostering experience sharing, cooperation, and joint initiatives, the network contributes to building sustainable Euro-Mediterranean solidarity based on shared values.

Med Youth brings together over 650 engaged young people aged 18 to 35 from 17 Mediterranean countries. In this safe, pluralistic, and supportive space, members of Med Youth learn from one another, reflect collectively, and take action together on 5 major shared issues: social and climate justice, civic participation, mobility and migration, employment and vocational training, and freedom of expression and creation. United by common values, network members raise a collective voice in favor of a just, inclusive, and sustainable peace in the Mediterranean.

Tae’thir – which means "influence" in Arabic – is a three-year program launched in 2023 with a clear ambition: to support young artists and content creators in the Mediterranean region who address human rights issues through their work. At the heart of Tae’thir is the desire to promote a culture of human rights in the Mediterranean by bringing together a dynamic community of artists, content creators, activists, and researchers.

Marseille, February 4–8, 2022
As Mediterranean civil societies face increasingly difficult working conditions and challenges, we have mobilized to help build connections and combat the isolation of these citizen organizations. We committed to organizing a Village des projets (Project Village) in Marseille, as part of the Forum des Mondes Méditerranéens (Forum of Mediterranean Worlds), with the support of the Agence française de développement (AFD) and DIMED: a space dedicated to promoting and connecting committed stakeholders.
Participants gathered from 14 countries (Tunisia, Lebanon, Turkey, Greece, France, etc.). Everyone is working for their local communities: from the Takatoat collective in Jordan to the Pride + project, as well as Aflam, Jeunes des 2 Rives, and SOS Méditerranée.
